Medical plan updates

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) medical plans will offer in-network coverage only in 2027

Effective January 1, 2027, all three medical plan options will provide coverage in-network only. Voluntary services received out-of-network will not be covered.

This change will help Flex and Axiom manage rising health care costs, while continuing to offer comprehensive, competitive coverage. UHC offers a broad national network of providers through the UHC Choice network. By using in-network providers, you can access quality care at lower costs, helping to keep the plans affordable for you and your family.

UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Choice Network

Flex (and Axiom) medical plans are moving to in-network care only.

Before you receive medical care in 2027, review the UHC Choice network to confirm your doctors, specialists, and facilities are in-network, as voluntary out-of-network services will not be covered in 2027.

Monthly contributions for medical coverage and the spousal surcharge are increasing

Monthly contributions for the three medical plan options, including the spousal surcharge for spouses that have medical coverage available through their employer, are increasing for 2027.

While health care costs continue to rise, Flex and Axiom will continue to pay the majority of the cost to help keep coverage affordable. This approach helps ensure our benefits remain sustainable and competitive, while continuing to provide valuable coverage options for employees and their families. Contributions for dental and vision will remain unchanged.

Health care costs continue to be a focus, so it’s important to take the time to understand your options, use available resources and consider lower-cost choices when appropriate. Be sure to review preventive care services and no-cost or value-add programs, so you can get support early and make the most of your benefits. Attend an upcoming Open Enrollment meeting, review the Benefits Guide, and check the monthly contribution amounts for all of your benefits when you enroll in Workday.
